Matcha Cocktail:

  • 2 tablespoons ceremonial-grade matcha powder, plus more for serving
  • 2 oz hot water (158–176°F)
  • 2 tablespoons plain almond milk
  • 2 oz vanilla gin
  • 2 oz white chocolate liqueur
  • 1 oz peppermint schnapps
  • ½ cup ice cubes

Matcha Cream:

  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Preparation

  1. Make the matcha cocktail: Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer until chilled, 2–5 minutes. Place the matcha and hot water in a bowl. Using an electric whisk or a bamboo whisk, whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Transfer the matcha mixture to a cocktail shaker. Add the almond milk, vanilla gin, white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and ice. Close the shaker, and shake vigorously for 90 seconds to combine the ingredients. Remove the glass from the freezer, and pour the matcha mixture into the chilled glass.
  3. Make the matcha cream: Place the heavy cream, matcha, and sugar in a glass or bowl. Using an electric whisk, whisk for 20–30 seconds, until the cream has thickened.
  4. Pour the matcha cream over the cocktail. Lightly dust with matcha powder, and serve.
